Student Enrollment

How to register your current HLCS GSRP Preschool Student for Kindergarten

1.    Do not enroll your child as a new student online! Your student is already recorded in our system and you likely already have a Parent Portal account. Once you have completed the items below, your school will assist you to use your Portal account to update emergency contact and medical information about your child.
·      If you already have a Parent Portal account, click HERE to LOG IN
·      If you have your Parent Portal access code, click HERE to CREATE AN ACCOUNT

·      If you do not have a Parent Portal access code, contact your school office for assistance (989-366-2000)


2.    Once you log in, Select Forms on the left and select FILL IT OUT on the right. You can then complete the form. If you do not see Forms, contact the school office.


3.    All information from your original GSRP registration will be sent to Collins Elementary School but you will need to complete additional information specific to Kindergarten enrollment. 

4.    The following items are required for your child's registration:

·      Certified Birth Certificate - school personnel are required to view a certified birth certificate. If unable to provide the certified birth certificate, the district may accept other reliable proof such as baptismal certificate, court or military record in addition to a notarized affidavit explaining the reason for the inability to produce the birth certificate.

·      Proof of Residency - lease/rental agreement, utility bill, etc.

·      Immunization Record - for requirements, click here.

·      IEP (if applicable) - Individualized Education Planfor medical or learning disabilities such as ADHD, speech/language delays, etc.

·      Copy of Parent/Legal Guardian's Identification Card/Driver's License

Kindergarten - Students must be five years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year to begin kindergarten.  If a child will turn five prior to December 1 of the current school year, the district may accept that student if the parent notifies the district in writing (please contact school office for specifics).


The required paper documentation noted above must be on file in the school office prior to final approval.
