Houghton Lake School Board Selects Candidates to Interview for Superintendent

Houghton Lake School Board Selects Candidates to Interview for Superintendent

The Houghton Lake School Board narrowed the field to three candidates after interviewing five candidates on February 19 for the superintendent position.  The three finalists are Julie Brown, Assistant Superintendent in Linden, Natalie Davis, CTE Director in Romeo, and Rick Heitmeyer, Superintendent/Principal in Vanderbilt.

The five candidate interviews on February 19 were about one hour each.  Board members asked the candidates questions regarding vision for the school district, communication style, management and decision-making style, vision for technology, and many others.  Candidates also were able to offer opening and closing statements.  There were about 20 staff and community members in the audience.  The Board is being assisted in the search process by MASB, Michigan Association of School Boards with Dr. Rodney Green as the consultant.
